Flowers:
Clustered, at the top of the hairless stalk; four flowers angled outwards, 90 degrees apart, and a fifth facing upwards. All are greenish in colour. The radial flowers have ten stamens and a five-lobed corolla, while the upper flower, similar in size, has eight stamens and a four-lobed corolla
Leaves:
Fleshy, twice trifoliate, the leaflets shallowly divided into two or three lobes, which have a tiny, blunt spine at the tip; at the base and one opposite pair along the stem
