Flowers:
Open clusters of urn-shaped flowerheads attached by hairy pedicels, tinged red, like the stem. Flowerheads, around 15 mm in diameter, are formed of narrow, hairy, red-tipped phyllaries, a ring of light pink ray florets and a centre of fewer yellow disc florets
Leaves:
Alternate; lanceolate and stalked towards the base, narrower and sessile above, with hairy surfaces and a prominent midvein
