Flowers:
An open cluster of a small number of relatively large flowerheads, up to 30 mm in diameter, with around 100 narrow ray florets above a domed centre of many yellow-orange disc florets. Below is a ring of overlapping green bracts covered, as are the stems, with glandular white, woolly hairs
Leaves:
Stem leaves are narrowly heart-shaped and clasping, up to 8 cm long, while basal leaves (withering early) are oblong. All have a fine covering of downy hairs
