Droseraceae

All plants in the droseraceae (sundew) family are carnivorous; there are three species in the UK, all in the drosera genus, and around 180 species worldwide. Drosera have basal rosettes of modified leaves lined with rigid glandular hairs, tipped by sticky globules resembling dewdrops; the leaves close if an insect becomes trapped. All are found in boggy, nutrient-poor habitats.
